MEN

PLAID SHIRT

Still going strong, and, unless you happen to be a particularly short-sighted lumberjack, a difficult look to get wrong.

The tasseled loafer has stalked under the radar for quite a while now, but it has become quietly prevalent this year, A casually devastating look when combined with a pair of rolled up chinos or corduroys,

WOMEN

OVERSIZED OVERCOAT

Boxy, boyish overcoats are doing the rounds this season; try to find one with bold, block colours such as this Jaeger overcoat from John Lewis; for something more understated, this All Saints number manages to tick several style boxes at once (plaid, billowy, sombre black and navy tones).

GEOMETRIC JUMPER

After last year’s flood of Aztec-inspired patterns, a more understated movement is afoot, with arguably more striking results. Topshop’s Unique range stock a couple of particularly impressive pieces.

OVER-BELT

Long, billowing coats and cinched waists were a common theme for many Autumn/Winter catwalks, with the ‘over-belt’ particularly prominent. Easily worn with trenchcoats and other similar pieces, but also great with dresses and over-sized cardigans.
