HOUSE of Cards author Lord Michael Dobbs is working on a new television drama with Borgen creator Adam Price in what he called “a very major project”.
The Conservative peer, whose political thriller was adapted into a BBC television series and more recently an American version starring Kevin Spacey, said the collaboration is expected to hit screens in 2014.
Lord Dobbs said he believed British political drama has not been on top form lately, but added it was by no means dead.
He said yesterday: “I think it has gone through a period where perhaps it hasn’t hit the high spots, but I have to say I’m very excited.” Lord Dobbs also revealed he would like to embark on a play specifically about Denis Thatcher. He said: “He would be a brilliant, brilliant character to base a play on. I’d love to do that.”
