THE creators of the hit BBC Scotland sketch show Burnistoun will debut a new live show as part of the 2016 Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

Iain Connell and Robert Florence will unveil Uncles at the King’s Theatre in March. Described as a “one-off” show, it promises “guidance from men of real experience, men who know all the answers.”

The duo premiered a live version of Burnistoun at the 2015 comedy festival at the same venue, before enjoying a sell-out run in August.

The show, set in a fictional north Glasgow suburb, ran for three series from 2009-2012, and returned to BBC2 for a 30-minute special in July.

The 2016 Glasgow International Comedy Festival runs from March 10-27. Headline acts already announced include Reginald D Hunter, Paul Merton, Ardal O’Hanlon, Julian Clary, Rob Delaney, Jenny Eclair, Bridget Christie, Russell Kane, Mark Watson and Richard Herring.

The full programme will be unveiled in January.

Tickets for Uncles went on sale today at 9am.
