Van Morrison, Will Young and the Super Furry Animals are to stage open-air shows at Glasgow’s historic Kelvingrove Bandstand this summer.
Primal Scream, Justin Currie, Lloyd Cole and Eddi Reader are among the home-grown acts in the line-up of the Kelvingrove Summer Nights series, which was first staged in 2014, shortly after the refurbished landmark was unveiled.
Steve Earle, The Waterboys, Alison Moyet, Squeeze, King Creosote, Glasvegas and Roddy Frame have performed at the bandstand since its £2 million overhaul.
This August’s line-up, which has been extended to eight concerts, also includes indie darlings Idlewild, Mercury Prize nominee C Duncan and the Electric Honey sessions.
Mark Mackie, managing director of promoters Regular Music, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to the Kelvingrove Bandstand for the third year, bringing with us such a varied selection of world class performers to this truly unique setting right in the heart of Glasgow.”
Tickets for all the Kelvingrove Summer Nights shows go on sale on Friday.
