The Lapelles are five youngsters from East Kilbride who create vibrant and exciting indie-pop songs.
Last week, we watched them play a triumphant set on the T Break Stage at T in the Park, where – perhaps partly thanks to profile-boosting support slots with the likes of The Kooks, Blossoms and The Last Shadow Puppets – they performed to a sizeable audience.
The quintet look poised to make a major impact; they’ve got the radio-friendly songs, an electrifying live show, a growing fanbase and they recently signed a management deal with the company that represents heavyweight acts such as Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets.
We recommend seeing them live at the Tartan Heart Festival on 5-6 August, or the Electric Fields Festival from 26-27 August. Visit http://www.thelapelles.com to hear some of their songs.
Olaf Furniss and Derick Mackinnon run the Born To Be Wide music industry events and seminars
