Laurence Made Me Cry is the songstress, artist and multi-instrumentalist Jo Whitby, who is based between Glasgow and the Highlands.

We first encountered LMMC’s electronica folk at the XpoNorth Festival in June and witnessed another impressive set on the XpoNorth Seedlings stage at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

Whitby has been picking up plays from the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland and Amazing Radio and has supported artists such as Gulp and Rae Spoon. She was also nominated for a Welsh Music Prize for her crowd-funded debut album The Diary Of Me.

Her latest EP, Titans’ Daughters, features collaborations with artists including Rachel Sermanni, Chrissy Barnacle and producer Simon Parton and the results are sublime. UK and European tour dates are to be announced soon. Listen at http://laurencemademecry.com
