THE WHO are promising to bring Glastonbury to a close with a bang after being confirmed as the headline act for the final night.

Lead singer Roger Daltrey said: “It’s great to be ending this part of a 50 year career at the most prestigious and respected music festival in the world. We’ll do our best to close this year’s event with a bang, unless of course the fireworks get wet!”

Glastonbury is not the only festival The Who will be playing at that weekend. On Friday June 26 they will take to the Great Oak Stage in London’s Hyde Park, where they will be joined by the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, Paul Weller and Johnny Marr.

The band is also undertaking a world tour in honour of reaching their 50th anniversary milestone.

Their busy June weekend will see them treating audiences to hits from their wide repetoire, including tracks from albums such as Who’s Next, Quadrophenia, Tommy and more.
