Manic fans take to the Street

FANS of Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers camped over-night outside Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange to get within touching distance of their heroes.

They lined up in sleeping bags as Oasis fans jammed phone lines trying to buy tickets to see the band at the 3000-capacity Usher Hall, next month. The Manics will play to 2000 fans tonight.

Lindsey Taylor-Fullman, 29, from Hartwell, in Northamptonshire, was part of a group which left the band’s last performance in Newcastle yesterday, drove to Edinburgh, and started queuing at 2am today.

She said: "When we got here we were not even the first to arrive."

By 11am there were 16 people lined up outside. Lindsey added: "I want to be in the front row and stand in front of my favourite member, bassist Nicky Wire."
