DAVID Bowie left a hidden message for fans on the front cover of his final album.

Blackstar was released by Bowie just two days before he died following a battle with cancer.

The 69 year olds album - released on January 8 - cover simply displays a black star on a white background.

But fans of the musician discovered that if the vinyl album cover was left out in sunlight, a special star field appeared in the black star.

When the album is taken out of the sun, the image disappears.

He previously told design magazine Dezeen: “A lot of people said it was a b******t cover when it came out, that it took five minutes to design. But I think there is a misunderstanding about the simplicity.”
