Renowned Irish folk singer Christy Moore will be taking to the stage at the Barrowlands this evening to entertain a sell-out crowd, bringing with him a back catalogue of hits that stretches over 45 years.

FILM: MIRROR LANDS

Part of Glasgow’s digital art celebration Sonica Festival, Mirror Lands is a dreamy portrait of the Black Isle. Shots of the stunning natural landscape and the man-made world surrounding it are tied together by an original score in this installation piece.

COMEDY: HA HA HALLOWEEN AT THE GRANARY

Hoping those killer lines won’t be lost on a roomful of stiffs, Edinburgh comedian Keir McAllister leads the lineup of comedians at The Granary in Leith this evening for the venues first ever live stand-up night. Other performers include Bob Graham, Stephanie Tisdell and Stuart McPherson.

EVENT: PAISLEY HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

A two-day Halloween extravaganza in the middle of Paisley. Friday night kicks off with a parade from Paisley Museum to Abbey Close, with more than 100 volunteers in fancy dress marching alongside the Spark! LED drummers in a huge display of light and carnival fun.

CLUB: DAY OF THE DEAD GLESGA

Glasgow’s Southside gets a spooky makeover this evening, with a Dia de los Muertos celebrations at The Rum Shack. Scotland’s sombrero four-piece Rapido Mariachi will supplying the Mexican festival atmosphere, followed by a number of DJs playing Latin and South American sounds until midnight. Facepainting is also available for the full transformation into a ghostly reveller.
