The trailer for the sixth installment of the Fast and Furious series, starring Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, was shown during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Filming for the Hollywood blockbuster took place in the Broomielaw area of Glasgow in September of 2012, the film is due for release in May of this year.
Advertising slots during the Super Bowl are widely regarded as the most lucrative time for commercials, with American viewing figures in the region of 108 million for last Sunday’s game.
Glasgow has become a hot property for Hollywood film makers, over recent years. Tom Hanks and Halle Berry filmed Cloud Atlas in the city and Brad Pitt was in town shooting World War Z.
Glasgow Film Office estimated the city’s economy was boosted to the sum of £20.15m by those films and other productions.
