BRAD PITT and Angelina Jolie are considering marrying on board a cruise ship off the coast of Scotland, according to reports.
The Hollywood couple are understood to have made enquiries about getting married on board luxury liner the Hebridean Princess having had doubts on their initial plan to marry at their French chateau.
The pair got engaged in April this year after a seven-year relationship.
The Sun reports that the couple’s son Maddox provided the inspiration.
“He came across the idea after looking back of the photos of the Carnell Estate in Ayrshire, where they stayed while Brad filmed World War Z - and they all loved it.
“So now they have made enquiries about booking the whole ship.
“It’s just what they’re after. It can hold up to 50 of their friends and family and can serve as a traditional, romantic setting - all totally private.
“Or they could always sail to a secluded bay off the Orkney and Shetland islands and have the ceremony there.
“The kids are all hooked on old British voyages, so they would love it.”
The Hebridean Princess, which would cost the couple around £300,000 to charter, is a favourite vessel of the Queen who hired it in 2006 to celebrate here 80th birthday and again in 2010 to a holiday with Prince Philip.
Ken Charleson, chief operating officer of Hebridean Island Cruises, said: “We have a very confidential relationship with a number of high profile guests.
“So I can’t confirm whether they have been making enquiries or not.”
Angelina Jolie announced in May that she was to undergo a double mastectomy as she carries the “faulty” gene BRCA1, which sharply increases her risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
The 37 year-old was been praised by health campaigners for helping raise awareness of breast cancer.
