Natalie Reckert can execute a very fine handstand. Of this, she leaves us in no doubt. She’s been doing them since she was a child because, she tells us, “it makes me feel special”.

And, for a few minutes, it’s lovely to watch her do them, especially those carried out on the hand balancer, but there is barely enough material here to build a routine, let alone an entire show.
The confetti-meets-wind-machine ending set to Purple Rain is quite something, but Reckert’s “stability tests” (aka smashing eggs with her body), and factual info about the science of balance just feel like padding.
