PAINTINGS by artist Wendy Wood, including a depiction of an incident in 1932 where she stormed Stirling Castle and replaced the Union Jack flag with a Lion Rampant, will be sold at auction.

The painting by the Kent-born artist, who was a passionate supporter of Scottish nationalism and was a founding member of the National Party for Scotland - a precursor to the SNP - is expected to fetch up to £300. The auction will take place on November 29 in Edinburgh’s Lyon & Turnbull auction house.
