Bad parking crackdown called for by disabled group

MSPs are being urged to support a clampdown on bad parking which endangers the lives of disabled people.

Leonard Cheshire Disability has responded to a consultation on the Responsible Parking (Scotland) Bill, which would see restrictions on pavement parking, dropped kerb parking and double parking enforced.

Jacq Kelly, policy and parliamentary officer for the charity in Scotland, said: “Vehicles parked inconsiderately on pavements, dropped kerbs and raised crossings can make life very difficult for disabled people.”
