Prom concert goes global
THE Last Night of the Proms is to be beamed live into cinemas around the world via satellite for the first time.
The traditional finale to the annual series, with its patriotic renditions of Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia, will be seen on big screens in Asia and countries such as Canada and Australia, it was announced yesterday.
In the deal struck by BBC Worldwide Music, fans will be able to experience the concert in digital surround sound. The Last Night will be broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall in London.
