Awards are the business for students

STUDENTS across Edinburgh and the Lothians have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their entrepreneurial skills following the national launch of a new award scheme.

RBS has joined forces with Find Invest Grow (FIG) to launch the scheme to reward and encourage the entrepreneurship shown by students who run student societies.

Until now, the entrepreneurial achievements of student societies – and the teams behind them – have received little, or no, recognition, but now these business skills will be rewarded through the RBS sponsored Enterprising Student Societies Accreditation (RBS ESSS).

By introducing a new accreditation scheme, along with national competitions, RBS ESSA will promote enterprising activities within these societies, with the aim of increasing the level of young enterprise throughout the UK.

Through RBS ESSA, student societies can gain gold, silver or bronze accreditations for demonstrating entrepreneurial flair. The scheme also offers £95,000 worth of prizes.
