Craig Coulthard is probably best known as the man who, last year, created Forest Pitch, a football pitch in the middle of a Scottish forest.
But conceptual art is just one of his talents. He also fronts a band, Randan Discotheque (whose new album is released at the beginning of February), and recently created a simple but striking video for their song Grandad’s Coffin. As if that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, he also runs an independent record label called The Bonjour Branch with Dave Maclean from Django Django and Andy Wake from the Phantom Band. You can find out more about Coulthard’s various activities at his website, and also follow his blog, The Curse & The Cure – recent entries include pictures of a multicoloured Wendy house that he made for his niece’s Christmas, and musings on a 19th-century Scottish photographer (and gynaecologist) called Thomas Keith.
