The basic point is that the UN Charter accepts national sovereignty. The western powers tried to get round this by invoking the threat to peace authorisation. However it is quite certain that Mugabe has not invaded neighbours, has shown absolutely no intention of doing so & would get easily spanked by South Africa in any conflict.

What we were trying to do was a wholly deliberate breach of international law & the Russians & Chinese, whose respect for the rule of law is demonstrably vastly greater than our own, quite properly quashed it.

Because communications are making it smaller the world community has never needed the rule of law more than at present & we shopuld be glad that they recognise it & that peace does not depend solely on corrupt openly genocidal pro-Nazi war criminals like our own leaders.
