The podcast, hosted by Kirsty McLuckie and made in partnership with DJ Alexander, speaks to Aileen Merchant, managing director of DJ Alexander in Aberdeen, about the unique nature of the market in the Granite City.
She explains that while the rest of the country experienced a post-Covid boom in house prices, the Aberdeen property market, inextricably linked to oil prices, did not feel the benefit.
But Aileen feels that the next few years will see opportunity returning, and price hotspots may shift to historically lower value areas, due to major projects starting linked to renewables and carbon capture as well as the oil market.
And as a professional working in both the property and sales market, she offers advice on what to do if you find yourself selling at this time of year.
Next Kirsty speaks to Anna Campbell-Jones, design consultant, presenter and judge of Scotland’s Home of the Year, about the annual festive hunt for the best decorated properties in the land.
Anna talks about her projects on and off screen and explains how the dynamic of the three presenters with vastly differing opinions on the programme works.
Without giving anything away - the five finalists will be featured on BBC 1 Scotland on Monday 18th of December - Anna takes us through the process of what makes each featured home special and the interesting ways in which owners adapt their homes for the festive season.
