SCHOOL pupils with vision problems are to be given specially-produced study guides to help them through exams.
The Edinburgh-based Royal National Institute of Blind People has made the guides for Higher and Standard Grade English.

As well as braille copies for blind students, large print and audio packs will also be produced for those with visual impairment.

John Legg, the RNIB's director, said: "How many children with sight loss will be going back to school this week unsure whether they will be able to take part in the same lessons as their classmates? How many might have to wait days, even weeks, before they get the educational material they need in a format they can access?

"We believe all children should have the right to educational material at the same time as their peers. That is why we are calling on local authorities and the Scottish Government to find a more efficient way to bridge this gap."
