Outstanding food. Outstanding service Outstanding wine list. Sometimes its good to just go out and you know that you wont be disappointed. Price was around what you would pay at any high end restaurant but we are always willing to pay for outstanding food any day.
Cannot wait for our return visit.

The Kitchin really is fantastic. The food is clever and delicious. The service is friendly an beyond attentive without being overbearing whatsoever.
One particular thing that impressed me was their ability to work around my lactose intolerance for dessert. I have long since given up expectations to have dessert, but the pastry chef whipped up the most incredible sabayon with apples in consideration of my intolerance rather than just tell me it was too bad.
I would go out of my way to recommend it to anyone who wanted a particularly Scottish bent to their haute-cuisine seafood, as I never have seen the selection of seafood available that I have seen there (including in other scottish restaurants). For example, the sweet delicious squat lobster meat.

This restaurant has a reputation and boy is it deserved! Incredible modern Scottish cuisine.

So glad I came here with my family. I am not a big fan of haute cuisine anymore, too much showing off and combining of strange flavours, for me, so I was a bit apprehensive.
The Kitchen shows that you can take cooking to a higher level using local ingredients, keep the flavours individual and still have Michelin star food.
I thought the costs were very competitive for the quality and would highly recommend anyone going for any occasion.

Very friendly staff and delicious food. The lunch set menu is great value and the dishes included are those that I would choose from the A La Carte menu.
Downsides were:
- we were offered bread, which never arrived - we ordered the lunch wine menu but the staff forgot. We had to remind them after we had already started on our starter courses. They then asked us for ID having already served us cocktails. - we asked for 1 lamb dish to be cooked medium/rare but they cooked all of our dishes medium/rare. We ordered the same mains so any difference would have been evident had there been any.I don’t think my experience lived up to expectation.

Actually love it - most amazing food I have ever put in my mouth - I have been for lunch and for the taster menu - although the taster menu is so fantasic I cannot even describe it the lunch is really good and extremely good value for money - love it!

Took my daughter for a lunch treat and what a treat it was. Welcoming staff, food so fantastically interesting that we actually stopped talking and just wanted to taste it in a reverent silence and the boss came out to the bar afterwards for a quick chat.....always a nice touch. Please go. The lunch menu is an excellent price for food as good as this.

Booked in for a wonderful anniversary treat, and we weren’t disappointed. A friendly greeting upon arrival always bodes well, and we were incredibly impressed with the staff throughout the night. Efficient, professional and friendly.
The food was out of this world. An arrangement of fresh bread was delivered for a wee snack whilst we pondered the menu, shortly followed by a gorgeous warm beetroot and creme fraiche soup. Every course after that was divine, and the wine was matched perfectly.
I’d recommend it for a special occasion (it is very pricey but soooo worth it for a treat) and we’re saving our pennies already to head back for another anniversary.

This place was Uber-posh but the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The chef was more than happy to tweak the dishes to please the fussiest of diners. I can’t afford to eat here on a weekly basis but if I could, I definately would.

Brought my discerning family here for a meal a while back and we were all very impressed. It was just before they got their star and haven’t had a chance to go back recently but definitely will.
The decor is great - quite simple but seems expensive. The staff were exceptional - I don’t think I have eaten anywhere with such knowledgeable staff. The wine waiter was great - friendly and not at all patronising. Our waitress was Canadian and made us feel very welcome - she kept my Dad and Uncle supplied with loads of the lovely home made bread throughout the meal.
Food was everything you would expect.
The only complaint was from my husband - he didn’t feel full up after the meal. Should have eaten as much bread as my Dad!
Tom came out at the end of the meal and had a chat - very shy and charming - no pretense about him at all. He seems to love food and also love the restaurant.
At the time we didn’t think the cost was too bad - think we paid about £50 a head.
