Very good quality butchers when there is so few to choose from I agree. I would go there all the time when I win the lottery. Their sausages are excellent but the same price as steak in an normal community butchers. I dream in jenners food hall and would love to shop in harrods food hall but I live in the real world. I used to get my sausages and black pudding out of Langs in easter road and they were tops, cheap as chips and top quality, sadly gone now due to retirement. And yes get your turkey from crombies with a mortgage. Ask them how much a leg of lamb is and you will faint. I get a whole leg of New Zealand lamb (2.5 - 3 kg) out of sainsburys with a 1/3 off for £15. Ask how much it costs here or if they ever do money off. I do think you get what you pay for and if you are willing to pay for style, show and the disneyland experience of this butchers like baxters soup, potted pheasant, plum and rhubarb chutney, shortbready experience, all the staff dressed like that big fat dummy outside Findlays (quality butcher and better Haggis than Crombies ha ha) in portobello then go here. But your paying for what is not in your bag when you leave. Aye black pudding, get yourself to Bowyers in stockbridge outstanding. Want a pie get yourself to Mathiesons ratcliffe terrace or if you like real mince in your scotch pie Bain's stenhouse cross. I used to get all my butcher meat from a legend John Mcdonald of north fort street (Butcher to the Olympic 100m champion Alan Wells) he was in a class of his own, no messing about in his shop. Just like the famous pork butcher George Bowman of great juction st, that butcher has sadly went downhill because george is no longer here to run his shop military style.

Thanks and P.S I am getting a fresh Norfolk Black free range turkey or fresh free range Goose this year for christmas. I have my christmas dinner on boxing day and get my Turkey or Goose the same day for about £7 when the full price for the suckers on christmas eve is £70. Think about what you are doing, this is austerity season. Merry Xmas all

One of Scotland’s best butchers- the sausages are out of this world! Our recommendation? Pork, leek, pancetta and cheddar. Yum.

Crombies is your typical friendly local butchers, with amazingly fresh delicious meat. I love the individual Beef Wellingtons, if you ever feel like treating yourself this is a must!

Im a ridiculously late latecomer to Crombies and have been hearing about it for years! My husband finally persuaded me to go in on Saturday and I can definetly see why there is all the fuss. They have so many different types of sausages - they have an online store where you can order from 40 different varieties! I love sausages but Im not that adventurous so I got irish pork and steak.

They were lovely and you can really tell the difference! Proper meat filled sausages. It actually says on their website that they buy proper cuts of meat in to make the sausages, they dont just use dodgy leftover bits of everything which is pretty fantastic for a sausage lover like me! My husband got a whisky flavour and hes eaten the orange flavoured ones already - (I know orange flavoured weird!) but he said they were lovely!

They also sell pretty much everything else, lovely fritters and perfect cuts of meat as you can imagine.. They are also the cleanest butchers I have ever laid eyes on - like spectacularly clean! The butchers behind the counter are so helpful and friendly as well, its such a different experience to the supermarket and its where I will be buy all my meat from now on. The only thing was they didnt have a used by date on their sausages, but I went on their website and it did say to use the sausages within 3 days otherwise freeze them.
Lovely lovely lovely! Only wish I had been in sooner.

Crombie's always has the freshest quality cut meats - as well as yummy prepared goods. The only downside is you definitely pay for that quality and it's a bit pricy....though when you're talking about meats, you don't want to skimp. From white pudding to black pudding, an impressive selection of sausages, and every steak cut under the sun, you'll find it all here - and the service is fab.
