A decent makeover in terms of decor and stock with increased prices to match. The atmosphere early on a Saturday night was pleasant & the food looked worth a try so a return visit could well be on the cards but I'll be avoiding the steeper priced pints such as West's & Vedett.

A complete turnaround from the original Fountain Bar. I wouldn't have been seen dead in this place in it's previous guise. However now it is absolutely my kind of pub! No TVs. Sensible volume music and superb beer. The food is very nice too. It appears to be connected to the Golden Rule (just round the corner) in some way (possibly the same owner). The end result of this is that the beer selection and quality is outstanding. Came here for food last weekend and the fish pie was amazing (see pictures). That is a whole langoustine on top of my fish pie. The beef pie looked great too (I'm planning to try it on my next visit).

This place has been transformed! No longer an 'old man's pub' it is a spacious and comfortable place to have a drink, coffee or a meal and perfect for having a catch up with your friends. Fountainbridge has long needed somewhere like this. And the ladies loos are the bext I've ever been in :) Prices are reasonable and selection of drinks is great.

It is known as 'The traditional Edinburgh pub'. Very popular place for all types of venues, especially stag and hen parties. The bar offers very rich choice of beers, spirits and alcopops. The snack menu is actually quite extensive in terms of salads, baguettes, mains, baked potatoes and burgers. The prices are super cheap, mains do not reach the price of 4.70, all baked potatoes are 2.75 and BLT is only 3 pounds! If you like the taste of rum, you have to visit the Fountain bar because they have a wide range of brands in their collection.
