Yummy Tori is a new Japanese restaurant based on Lothian Road, and this weekend I finally managed to get there and sample the delights.
We went for the 7 item Yakitori between the 2 of us. We ordered;  Negima - chicken with leek, Tsukune - chicken meatballs, Yaki Asparagus - asparagus rolled with shaved pork, Yaki Chi-Zu - cheese rolled with shaved pork, Yaki Tomato - cherry tomato rolled with shaved pork, and a couple of other things that escape me at the moment, and 2 delicious cocktails. We sat at the bar which was great as we were able to watch the chef's preparing our food which was pretty cool. Sadly though, we were really hungry after not eating all day, so we found the portions weren't really enough for 2, so we ordered more... Ramen noodles in a chicken and pork broth, with veg and a chicken fillet side, calamari, shitake skewers (I think that's it!) but needless to say... That was far too much!
The cabbage and misi starter was a nice touch too!

Aside from the food, the decor was nice, modern, clean and refreshing and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, while the staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpfull.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future to try the bento boxes, and tapas dishes (and maybe some more yakitori too!)

The best Japanese food I've tasted outside of Japan!
