RoscoUK last updated on 30 July 2012: The food was fantastic! Service was good, very polite maybe a little slow when we were there but still the food is well worth it!

As a student i value a good money saving deal and Thaisanuk did not disappoint!! my friends and i took advantage of the meal deal offer and couldnt believe the portions. For under £9.95 we each could choose one main course and one starter with rice. We tried a lot of different dishes and there were no complaints, even enough for breakfast the next day!! always a winner!!!! we had the food delivered with no extra charge! our student flat was quite a distance from the place and it was a saturday evening but the food still arrived on time and piping hot! we will definately be back! a new favourite for those lazy nights when beans on toast just wont do!!!

My partner and I stumbled across this restaurant while out on a walk during our visit to Edinburgh and are very pleased we did. Although the waitress informed us that they were still waiting on their card machine she was very helpful in showing us where to go to take out some cash. We enjoyed the fresh, clean surroundings of this newly opened establishment and found the staff very helpful and friendly. Although they were very busy the staff were very attentive and ensured we had all we required. I had the spring rolls which were very tasty, especially compared to the usual, greasy, bland ones you are served from the average chinese takeaway. My partner had a very fresh, hot bowl of Tom yum soup which he enjoyed very much. We shared our mains of Vietnamese Noodles and Thai Green curry. The flavours were just incredible and the coconut rice was sticky and very moreish. We are glad to recommend this to any locals and will certainly be coming back should we be lucky enough to travel to Edinburgh again.

5 star experience!!

I saw this place open recently and decided to try it thinking that’s it’s something to do with the other restaurant that used to be in Marchmont few years ago. Extremely disappointing experience! I don’t think there was anything home made at all. In fact, everything tasted like a very poor quality readymade meals from a cash and carry. Not what you would expect from any restaurant. Dim Sum was saturated in fat and readymade fishcakes tasted like rubber (and was that even fish!). My partner ordered some beef skewers and the meat could have been anything. My Thaisanuk salad was made again of couple of bit of very cheap beef and very tired looking lettuce leaves. For some reason it was served with rice! The place was empty apart from one other table, but the waitress didn’t come to check on us once. It took quite a while to get her attention. They also don’t accept card payments. The only good thing about it is that it BYOB. Don’t bother with this place. There is a much better Thai restaurant in Bruntsfield.
