After going to this salon for over a year and recommending friends I was absolutely disgusted when I received a shellac manicure last week and within 2 days the polish had come off 2 fingers which they fitted me in to sort and at which time I was told if I had any more problems to come in and they would take it off. Within another couple of days it chipped again and when I called I got a response a DAY later - I was informed that they had no appointments to take it off and then when they got a cancellation they would be in touch. When I received a call to come in they told me that I would not be able to come in with my baby as massages were happening and that I would be charged £7 for the removal. I insisted that I was a good customer had been visiting them for over a year and had been offered this removal as I was having problems this was not normal for me to complain to no avail. In the previous week I had been for a pedicure and facial but that doesn't seem to matter. Hence I will go to another salon to get it removed and will not be back. Nice customer service Karen especially in an industry where there is lots of options to visit!
Tips for potential customers you always receive an answer phone and calls are never returned that day and the "owner" is not contactable as I am sure she would be delighted to know how her customers are getting treated.

What a glum salon this is - its not one to pick if you're looking for a pick me up or feeling of being pampered. Its a little like being in a library where someone's left random beauty equipment and there is a very weird vibe between the staff.
I also bought a KGB voucher for
lash extensions and ANB eyebrows which their web site describes as:
'ANB eyebrows –
For those that are seeking the perfect arch this treatment combines waxing,
tinting, plucking and trimming in order to achieve the perfect brow. £34'
I got an eyebrow wax, asked about the tinting
etc and was told it wasnt really needed for me and now have multiple tiny, red
and very sore blisters at the edge of my brows. The beautician was really nice
but it wasnt really the experience I signed up for and there's a weird
quiet atmosphere - not in a relaxing/peaceful way though.
My eyelashes were applied on Thursday - I was
asked if I wanted Glam or natural and I said glam but came out looking like I'd
applied a layer of mascara rather than the desired fake lash effect. I now, 4
days on, have various gaps where the lashes have fallen out already despite.
I've marked this as pricey - the
deals are cheap but its really just a waste of money overall.
P.S the other comments about them having no
appointments and not returning voice mails (unless it suits) is bang on.

After buying a voucher for eyelash extension to go on holiday I tried to book a month in advance.
However after calling for a month, leaving messages and emails I finally got through 5 days before leaving for my holiday.
As expected there was no more appointments for another month and I was told I mustve been calling somewhere else as they 'always' return voicemails to customers....like Im stupid or something!!!!!!
Even after mentioning that i had been emailing also I was told it would never be used but its clearly visible on their website and I used it lastyear to book after having the same problem with the phone line!!!!!!!!!
I refuse to use this business and would warn anyone whos thinking of using them to think twice!!!!
Terrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had several treatments at Absolute - eyelashes three times, manicure, facials and hot stone massage. I have been really pleased with every single treatment! I adore my eyelashes - the ones on now have been on for five weeks and still look great. I'm now going back for an infill. Is there another Absolute in Edinburgh that all these negative reviews are about! Doesn't seem like the same salon to me. I love it and will be going back with and without deals.

Having bought the itison voucher for the semi permanent eyelash extensions, I had my appointment on Friday, I was a bridesmaid on the Sat so thought this was the perfect opportunity. I attended my appointment where I also paid extra for an lower eyelash tint. At the end of the appointment when I was shown my lashes the inner corners of my eyes were bare - I brought this to the therapists attention and she said she couldn't do them in my corners (This has never been a problem in the past!)
I followed all the care instructions given however by Sunday over half the lashes had fell out and the remaining were a mess. Unfortunately I was under the impression these would last longer, but it would seem 2 days is pushing it - never mind 2 weeks as advised! Also it looks like I have never had lower eyelash tint!
I will not be returning to the salon as I don't feel the provide as good a service to those using the vouchers and certainly don't provide the best atmosphere which would encourage you to go back as a full paying customer.

Having just redeemed my KGB voucher at Absolute Beauty Edinburgh (an amazing £29 for 30 mins of hot stone massage, a Hydrodermie Facial with gorgeous Guinot products AND an Indian Head Massage!) I wanted to share the positive experience I had there. The staff were polite, friendly and courteous at all times and my therapist Karen was excellent, highly skilled and very knowledgable, giving lots of product and skincare advice. The massage was so relaxing, and the products in the facial smelled wonderful and have left my skin absolutely glowing. A very tiny change I would make would be to perhaps soundproof the rooms further, but really the whole experience has left me feeling absolutely fantastic and I'll be booking in again to see Karen and take advantage of the many deals available here very soon! Thanks Absolute Beauty for a thouroughly enjoyable experience! :)

I purchased a KGB voucher for a massage facial and Indian head massage. Before going for y appointment I was slightly worried as the reviews for this salon aren't great. Well, I guess I got lucky! Salon is warm, welcoming and staff were very friendly. I got taken in sharp at 6.30pm for my treatment, my therapist was lovely, I think her name was Connie (maybe corrie?). Anyway I have to say it was probably the best massage I have ever had! Perfect pressure and extremely relaxing. During my facial I wanted to know more about the guinot products as I'm looking for a new range to use at home, therapist was very knowledgable about products and knew what she was talking about! Overall a lovely experience with a very professional therapist. I re-booked for another treatment, can't wait to go back :-)

Very disapointed with my experience!
I visited this salon last week and had terrible time, when I arrived I had to wait 20minutes to be seen was not offered a drink and the staffed seem very rude. The eyelashes that i had fell out two days laterand I was left with lumps of glue in my natural lashes. I rang the salon but they could only fit me in early afternoon which was not good for me as I work also the person on the phone seem to b blaming me but Ive had semi perment lashes for years so definatley know how to take care of them, she was very blunt and rude!! Will not be going back plenty of other decent salon in edinburgh i wouldnt waste your money here!!
would not advise

Dreaful overall. Therapist was full of the cold, kept sniffing and sneezing. Eventually she went to get a tissue – believe me the constant nose blowing was an improvement. Add that to the fact that her uniform and her hands absolutely stank of smoke. After she sneezed into her hand 3 times in a row and then went to continue my treatment I asked if she was going to wash her hands. She glared at me, gave her hands a cursory rinse under the tap and then carried on. Needless to say, 2 days later I now have a bad cold. Really unprofessional and not a patch on the other beauty salons in Edinburgh. Avoid at all costs.

I got an Itison voucher for this and then was very worried by the reviews. Having been there I just don’t understand the negative opinions. From the beginning this was a very positive experience. I was quite late in booking and they had no appointments within the time-scale but they gave me a later appointment without any fuss. This is a lot better than previous experiences with other slaons – and that was not even with a deal but with a gift voucher. From then on the eperience was positive. The satff were pleasant and welcoming and I was taken to a relaxing, warm room where I had a wonderful hot stone massage from Karen. It was excellent and, as a Onespa and Stobo customer, I know a good massage. This was followed by a facial which left my skin glowing and plumped – despite the fact I’d just ruined it by basking in the sun for a week! Absolutely no compliants – I will be back and totally recommend it. Please ignore these negative reviews.
