Hex is a Hoax!  Not an authorized Mac/Apple repair shop.  My daughter brought her MacAir into this shop to be repaired.  She was told they could repair it or put in a new Apple  keyboard.  She opted for the repair because it was less expensive.  The technicians were very rude, but because she wanted her computer repaired, she agreed for them to repair it.
Within a week after getting the computer back and  paying 180 pounds for the "repair" her computer stopped working again.
She then took it to an authorized Apple repair shop who told her that Hex had, in fact, NOT repaired her computer, and that this computer was the 5th computer they had received recently  that had been taken to Hex , and  was not repaired.
They also said that  Hex could not have possibly replaced her keyboard because they are not authorized by Apple, nor do they have or sell genuine  Mac/Apple parts.  The Apple authorized shop has filed a complaint with Apple regarding Hex  for fraudulently advertising that they are authorized to repair Apple products.
Do not waste your time or money with these fraudulent jerks.

My MacBook Pro stopped working after I accidentally dropped it.  I took it to Hex and I am glad I did.  The staff member who served me took time to explain what was causing the problem and what needed to be done.  I was very comfortable leaving my laptop for repair.  I was on a tight schedule and that too was accommodated.  I had my laptop back and working the same day!  When I came to collect my computer, I was advised on how to maintain my laptop properly as well as the terms of the warranty on the replacement part and the repair.  Very positive experience and I highly recommend this place.  If you want professional service and courteous staff, this is the place to go to.  Thank you Hex for fixing my laptop and getting me out of a bind!

Worst customer service I have received in a while....

There was water damage to my phone, and the screen wasn't working, so had dropped the phone off a few months ago for repair. I was told that it would be £15 for them to look at the phone, then they would let me know the cost of repairs before proceeding.

I was then told (after a week or so) that the screen needed replaced- which would be £140. I told them to wait, and explained I wouldn't know for a couple of months whether I could afford this. I was told this was fine.

Went to pick it up today- this is like 3-4 months after handing it in... and told that the screen did not need replaced, and that they had replaced some port which had fixed it- but they had already done the work, and so I was to pay £40, or I was to wait more time for them to un-do the repair that had already been done.

So basically- I had been without my phone for 3-4 months- even though it had been fixed, I just hadn't been told. And secondly, it had been repaired without me confirming I wanted to go ahead.

Now Im doubting that there was any repair done on it- as I know that sometimes water damaged phones will just start to work again.

Extremely annoyed

First I called, and talked to a man that was SO RUDE and UNHELPFUL, I decided to come into the store to get help in person. Sure enough I had to deal with the same 'Mac Engineer' I talked  to on the phone: longish dark hair, blue eyes and glasses. He was even more NASTY to me in person, and eventually MADE ME STRAIGHT UP CRY. Basically, every question I asked he would answer with the same sarcastic response with a massive attitude, showing he wasn't listening to anything I was actually saying because I am was absolutely not asking the same question over and over. I left when I finally got the information I came in to get, simply if the service I wanted them to do with my external hard drive was possible, but this took a good 15 minutes of VERBAL ABUSE. The way he talked down to me is something I hope never to experience for the rest of my life, from not only a stranger but someone I know. If this is the kind of employee you let deal with your customers, I wouldn't be surprised if your business goes downhill because I am certainly not ever coming back, even if that means figuring out how to deal with a computer problem I don't know anything about on my own, like what I am struggling to do at this very instant.

Overall: I'm disgusted, I would give zero stars but it won't let me.

I have been in several times, and everytime i have had great help. i frequently go in just to peruse different items, and all the members of staff are brilliant and give me loads of advice. i have also bought a number of products from them, from RAM, to Keyboards and Graphics Cards. i havnt had any problems at all, and if when i have got the items back i have had trouble installing they are fast to reply to email, and always help if i have to call.
they have even given me advice about stuff that doesn't regard them. i recently upgraded my Hard drive system and emailed them on some advice how to do it, and they sent me a full description of how the best way to go about it was!!
i really cant fault their service, always happy to help me no matter what the problem is!

I brought my laptop here to be fixed after I dropped it and it wouldn't start. There was a big crack in the casing where the USB ports are. I paid £150 pounds or so and they replaced the hard drive.
When I tried to use it however, it was clearf the USB ports were not working. Not great, I thought, given it was clear the casing was cracked around the USB ports you think they would check that.
Anyway, I brought it back - expecting they would say sorry we missed that, we can fix that for you and it will cost X.
Instead they said I would AGAIN have to pay a 'diagnostic fee' of £59 as well as any costs of repair before they would look at it. I though this was really unreasonable as I'd already paid this for an 'assessment'  and they should have picked it up then - they should have been apologising for being remiss!

Obviously I refused, and they have lost my custom.

I wouldn't recommend here - prices are superficially OK but dreadful customer service and obviously not very honest.

Don't go anywhere else other than HEX. I had a cracked IPad Screen and a technical problem and a friend recommended HEX. You just know when you walk into the shop that it's a quality organisation. All the staff there were really welcoming and helpful and the quality of service is superb. Special thanks to Mark who, in terms of customer service and professionalism, needs a gold star!! He listened to my (rather garbled!) explanation of what had happened to the screen, advised me that he would be doing the work himself (which was very reassuring as he was clearly an expert), explained in detail what the repair would involve technically and informed me how much it would cost (a good price Ior the service I received) and how long it would take. He phoned me as soon as my IPad was available for collection and treated me with friendly respect throughout. My IPad is now as good as new and I'm delighted.

My IMac5’s hard drive as well as DVD/CD player died and took it to Hex after some research and reading reviews. After speaking with the friendly and professional Mac specialist, Mark, I left the machine with the assurance and trust that I would receive a phone call before any work was carried out with a full breakdown of the price. Later I received a call as promised and quoted a very reasonable price for the work and hardwear which also allowed me to upgrade my RAM. Within a day of taking the machine in, it was back at home and working better than before. Along with all the little extra’s, screen cleaned, fans dusted, tips and advice, and friendly professional service, I would have no hesitation recommending Hex for any repairs or advice. Problems with my Mac in the future, I’ll be straight up to Hex. Thanks Mark!

Imagine a dead MacBook. Won’t boot and the owner (not me) has not backed it up. And, of course, it has vital content on it!

Imagine the panic.

Now imagine a business which gets the data off the failed drive, replaces it with a new one and sets the MacBook up again, with the recovered content there!

No panic, no fuss, amazingly good communications throughout. Just excellent guys and an excellent service.
