BEWARE They rip you off by adding 10% to the price of all drinks served to the table, WTHOUT INFORMING YOU. This is probably illegal and very expensive over a time. I only discovered this by accident after years. The stall informed me that they do not receive the surcharge!

really nice little bar, can be a bit manic during the summer (it’s next to a campsite!) but the staff are always friendly and helpful. menu may not be the most extensive but the food’s been lovely every time we’ve eaten there and the prices very reasonable

Afraid I can't agree with previous comments. I live within a mile of the Stable bar and have never tried it nor had anyone recommend it but I often see a lot of cars there so thought we would give it a try.
It has a nice atmosphere with the open fire, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is very reasonably priced. The food was served very quickly but was very uninspiring, after a few mouthfulls we were all wishing we had stayed in and had a home cooked meal instead.
Maybe we were unlucky but I would not recommend the stable bar to anyone for a meal but it is nice for a drink.

What a lovely place. Very warm, very welcoming, staff very friendly and you can even take your dog. Set in a nice area for walking, a super place to stop and have a refreshing drink afterwards. Food was excellent and portions were extremely generous. Intend to drop in here often.

Nice bar tucked away from the masses , busy with walkers and people after a good quality meal. Food is generally good with big portions , serves variety of wines as well as good choice of beers etc. Safe place for families as bar is in a courtyard area. Look out for the hairy spiders which appear now and then.

The Stable Bar is a lovely place to sit and chill, maybe after an afternoon walking or shopping. It’s a little of the beaten track, tucked away beside a garden centre and campsite, but it’s well worth looking out. It’s a really nice traditional bar, and I love the feeling in there, especially in winter, when they’ll have the fire roaring. It feels so cosy and relaxed. They’ve managed to keep the feel of the fact that it’s converted stables too,it’s just a lovely atmosphere. The food is very reasonably priced and is simply scrumptious, with an excellent variety available without having so much choice that you’re exhausted after reading the menu! I’ve always found the staff are really friendly and so are the locals! Just watch out for the remote control spider that they like to play with now and then…... !!!

This is a lovely bar surrounded by lovely Edinburgh countryside.
Top notch food is more than enough for me.
Cosy and rural just a pleasant place to be.
With pub games and mischief a day at the Stables is a good day indeed.
