Been my dentist for years from being quite an anxious patient I can now how have fillings without any anaesthetic they see me at short notice which might be why they run late sometimes!

Chaotic and disorganised practice. I had the first appointment of the day and was still kept waiting half an hour. Then, the dentist gave me the local anaesthetic, ran out the room to see a patient in the next room and didn't come back for 20 minutes! It is inconvenient that they don't accept card payments so you have to pay cash for everything. Furthermore, when you are getting a treatment in several stages over the course of a few weeks, the receptionist sometimes asks for random payments of £10 or £15 towards the total cost of the treatment after each stage, rather than just asking for the full exact cost when the treatment is completed, which always seemed a bit arbitrary to me. The communication with patients is very poor.
Having said all that, the actual dentistry is fine and I had a root canal done there very satisfactorily.

Nobody likes going to the dentist, and I have to admit that I was so scared of them I hadn’t been in eleven years! It took me quite a while to find a dentist that was still taking NHS patients, as all the recommendations I got were full booked. However, Parkside got me registered straight away, and got me in for a checkup within a few weeks. Unsurprisingly, when it turned out I needed work done, they were really great - the dentist seemed very young, but he knew what he was doing and was a consummate professional the whole time. He was also really patient when I got anxious about my treatment, and he seemed to know exactly what to do to help me calm down, and make things easier for me by telling me exactly what he was doing and when. It can’t be easy being a dentist, but they make it seem so!
