Its more likely people leave a review after receiving poor service, however after taking my Golf to Lochrin motors for a service and new clutch I'm a very happy customer and will certainly be going back. I've used a few other garages in Edinburgh who may be cheaper but are so unorganised. These guys have a good reception and the receptionist was on the ball whenever I spoke to her on the phone. With regards to price it's difficult to compare to other garages however I do know the dealer would have charged £200 for my new badge and these guys were £150. The car was sorted really fast, it was washed and they even drove it to the exit of the garage - super service!

I took my car in with a relatively bad oil leak and was told it was the pressure switch, something which I've had to sort before (the part costs a whole £3.89). I was then told by the receptionist that I would need a new switch, an oil change and a coolant change... Okay, how much will that cost? .... £172!!! The receptionist then tells me that I also have collapsed rocker hoses which need changed and that my gear linkage was installed incorrectly (although installed by a previously qualified Vauxhall mechanic, which is the make of my car). Deciding to take my car elsewhere I was on the receiving end of bullying tactics from the receptionist who attempted to berate me into carrying out the work. She was scoffing at my lack of car knowledge (..isn't that what I'm paying you to find out?! And when exactly did you receive your mechanics qualifications?) and I actually had to argue with her for around 10 minutes to get her to give it up!!! Why I was having to fight my corner, I don't know, I was still a paying customer at the end of the day and had to pay the £32 diagnostic fee. I had a friend of mine who is a mechanic pick up the switch and a massive bottle of oil (coolant and rocker hoses completely unnecessary) for £17.50. It took him the grand total of 5 minutes to repair.

Just back from a trip to Lochrin where I delivered to them a functioning vehicle for MOT checking and they returned to me a vehicle with jammed rear wheels and a broken hand-brake. Fair enough the vehicle needs work to pass an MOT, but £750 I don't think so. The receptionist then tried to pursuade me that my vehicle was already damaged when I took it there even though I drove it myself. I will not be having the required work done by Lochrin and will never use them again as after their simple check my vehicle was not drivable. I do not trust this garage for good service/value for money at all.

Great service. I've used Lochrin Autos for nearly 10 years, they have always been friendly and helpful, I've never been overcharged and on several occasions when they've not been able to sort a problem not been charged at all . Highly recommended .

Having used this garage in the past I'm surprised at the low quality of service I received. The bill was not explained properly and I feel I was over charged, I will not be back.

Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Pleasant waiting area with comfortable seating. I often feel intimidated by garage mechanics but the Service Manager dealt with my questions and did not make me feel stupid! Lochrin now look after all our family cars and we have never been disappointed by the level of service we have received. I would recommend them to anyone.

Everybody is quick enough to tell folk about a bad service…well here you go guys…this is an excellent service that I would like to tell you about!!
I was very surprised last week when I took my car in for its annual service and MOT to be greeted by friendly staff and a lovely inviting (and clean!!) office. When they called to explain the work required I was not confused with male mechanical terms but in a way which I understood. They also explained that there would be future work required and put a rough time limit for the work required and price guide line. I have been to garages in the past which have ripped me off but Lochrin are very honest and to the point!! Thank You so much for an excellent service!!! I will be recommending you and I will be back!!

I was in Lochrin auto a while ago to get a puncture fixed and was thinking of replacing the tires… one of the mechanics told me that I could either purchase the tires in the garage or order them online as I would be able to choose from a wider selection of brands… I finally decided to order them online so I could take them to Lochrin autos to get them fitted as the mechanic told me it was not a problem.
Today I phoned to book an appointment to get my tires fitted and what a surprise when the person who answered the phone told me that they would only fit the tires if they were purchased to them.
Now I am wondering? why should I pay 30 extra quids for tire when I can buy the same brand almost half of the price you were charging from the internet, secondly why can’t I have the tires fitted if at the end of the day I am going to pay whatever you had asked for it? I was planning in doing my M.O.T test at the same time…
I just found another garage that will happily do this for me with no probs at all so as soon as I get the job done I will post a review to let you all know how it went.
Lochrin Autos you’ve just lost a customer! and by the way I won’t be recommending you to anyone i know.

My daughter called me after vsiting this garage last Friday. They advised the car needed welding to pass it’s MOT which was very expensive. I had a 3rd party garage look at the card as they advised the welding was not required. Very poor service.
