School wins cycle award

THE first Cycle Friendly School Award has been given to a school in Midlothian.
Rosewell Primary won the accolade in recognition of its efforts to create a cycling culture within the school and encourage its pupils to cycle to school wherever possible, with seventy-three per cent of its pupils choosing to either cycle or walk to school.
Lindsay Brunton, education and training officer at Cycling Scotland, said:
"The school's success shows the culture change that can be achieved."
