School starters must stay until 17

CHILDREN starting secondary school in England this term will be the first to be required to stay in education or training until they are 17.
It is an attempt to cut the number of leavers without qualifications. The mandatory leaving age will rise to 18 next year.

My sister is a teacher

She identifies the "hopeless" cases at 14 for which the only reason they are at school is due to legal reasons. they are not interested in learning, are disruptive and are a waste of teachers time...

Now schools need to chuck more resources at them for another year??

I and others like me would have to have stayed at shcool for another year before going to Uni...what a waste of time.....

Might as well get started at McDonalds or the bar job a year earlier.

There are pupils who would really benefit from a vocational training who now have to sit through another year of theory which they're not going to let sink in. PC rubbish.

Government propaganda clearly isn't working, so they want to keep kids in their state indoctrination camps for another year or two.

Why do you think the Government is so keen to promote "life long learning"?
