PUPILS from a city secondary school have won an award for their documentary on their lives, school and community.
The Craigroyston Community High School pupils won the title in the first ever Edinburgh Schools Screening during the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The budding filmmakers shot the film as part of the World Citizens project organised by Edinburgh-based charities Mercy Corps and Scotdec. The project's aim is to connect students and teachers from Scotland with schools in East Timor to learn interactively about poverty eradication, active citizenship and good governance by sharing their experiences.
Shona Fisher of Mercy Corps said: "I'm delighted the students were awarded for their film making efforts, it is a powerful piece of work that brings out the voice of the students and community.
"Hopefully it has also encouraged them to become active world citizens through mutual sharing with students on the other side of the world."
