PUPILS celebrated the restoration of their school library at a special opening ceremony.
Mike Pringle MSP joined youngsters at Gracemount Primary School yesterday to mark the £10,000 makeover.

The school library – which was last updated in the 1960s – now has an interactive white board, new books, new furniture and has been redecorated.

It was funded with a Lottery grant secure by the Parents' Association. Headteacher Rose Islambolipoor said: "The children are thrilled with their new library, which has state of the art facilities which make it a joy to use.

"Two of our learning assistants asked if they could explore getting funding for the library and went at it with vigour.

"The biggest donation of £10,000 came from Awards for All Lottery funding.

"I couldn't be more delighted for the staff and pupils."
