College hires new principal

STEVENSON College has appointed a new principal and chief executive.
Brian Lister OBE will take up the post on September 17.

Mr Lister has nearly 30 years' experience in the education sector, joining Stevenson from the Scottish Further Education Unit.

He started his educational career as a secondary teacher at Lornshill Academy in Alloa in 1980. He joined Lauder College in 1986 and became depute principal in 1996. He became Cumbernauld College principal in 1999.

Mr Lister was recognised for services to further education in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year.

Hope the new principal will have decent 'principles' and not allow people like Councillor Ian Perry and their ilk to pretend to work at the college whilst leeching £400k during secondment elesewhere.
