NEW Edinburgh recruit Marc Teague is hoping that some rugby magic will rub off from working alongside Test stars such as Chris Paterson and Simon Webster now that he received his first full-time contract.
Teague signed for Edinburgh from Heriot's ten days ago and is telling of his step up in a web-blog to supporters.

Says Teague: "It has been a good first week. Obviously the step up from club rugby to professional rugby is noticeably big. The speed
and physicality is so much more intense than what I'm used to.

"The most enjoyable aspect is working alongside the likes of Chris Paterson and Simon Webster. Normally I'm used to just watching them playing for Scotland, but now I'm actually training with them.

"A lot of people have asked about how the opportunity at Edinburgh came about, I spoke to (coaches] Andy Robinson and Rob Moffat before they went away on their tours.

"They said I was invited to do the pre-season and then they would see how I coped and made a decision as to whether or not to give me a contract.

"I wanted to make the commitment and train as hard as I could in order to earn myself a chance to play pro rugby.

"The training was really hard and the first week was unbelievably tough.

"I was just in the gym the whole time and there were numerous fitness tests.

"I was coming home at night and then going straight to bed. But I noticed there was another step up in training once the internationalists came back from the Scotland tour."
