HERIOT'S captain Marc Teague today admitted that training with Edinburgh Rugby had sharpened his appetite for a long-awaited professional contract.
Wing ace Teague, 26, has been knocking at the door for some time and his reputation soared when he was named Scottish club international player of 2007-08 helped by a brace of tries in the away win over Wales.
Now he says it is make or break time for his professional aspirations with Edinburgh believed to be running the rule over his talents one more time.
"I've always wanted to play for Edinburgh and nothing has changed in that respect," he says, adding: "I've been training with the club a couple of times as I have in the past while playing some back-up games."
"If I don't go pro this season then that will be it so far as my hopes are concerned.
"There are other things I want to do so it is make or break professionally rugby-wise."
Teague led Heriot's to the Scottish Cup Final last season and his exploits has seen him nominated as captain once again.
"It's a great honour to be captaining Heriot's and I look forward to our first pre-season game on Saturday week against Stewart's-Melville," he says.
