Tennis: East roll with Dyce and Co

Alan MacDONALD and
Graeme Dyce posted their second consecutive full house of three wins as East of Scotland tennis men edged through 6-4 against West of Scotland in an AEGON summer county cup division three encounter at Cambridge.

Both the other East couples – Sam McNeill and Neil McPhee as well as Stewart Crerar and Euan McIntosh – also contributed to maintain a promotion bid, with East just two points behind unbeaten leaders Lancashire. They were due to face Middlesex today, who are still looking to get off the mark.

Meanwhile, the East women sit on top of Division Three of their competition at Ilkely
after a third straight win, a 6-3
success over Berkshire.

East women changed their team successfully and Mhairi Brown partnered Emma
Devine to a clean sweep of wins, dropping just eight games in the process.

Aisha Kerr and Sarah
Mcfadyen also won three out of three for East, who at the very least look safe in the division ahead of today’s match with third-placed Sussex.
