Edinburgh’s Craig Howieson gave Scotland a 3-2 first round win over Venezuela at the World Team Table Tennis Championships in Dortmund.

The Scottish No. 2 beat Henry Mujica 11-8, 11-3, 11-7 to set up a clash with Norway. Scots No. 1 Gavin Rumgay beat Mujica and then Marco Navas.

Scotland’s women beat Guernsey 3-2 and also meet Norway in today’s second stage.
