Angling: Get a ‘Grand in your Hand’

A major competition is about to get underway in the Spring at Tweeddale Millennium in the Borders.

The competition is worth £1000 to the winner which I and a few others have dubbed the “Grand in your Hand” match. There are some lucrative runner-up prizes which have yet to be confirmed but rest assured they will be good ones. This will run over six weekend heats, starting on Saturday, March 30 through to August, with the final being held in late September. The top three or possibly four will progress directly into the final for the big money. Bill also revealed a wild card entry from each heat will also find themselves in with a chance. Anglers will have an opportunity to enter in one or all six heats and at £20 an entry it won’t burst the bank.

Those fortunate enough to reach the final will pay £25 and this will include lunch for all the participating anglers. Being a catch and release competition, the weigh-ins will be quick and easy to resolve. For more details and confirmation of entry or entries contact Bill Taylor on 01620 810009 or tweeddale@fsmail.net.
