Soap stars on city stage

A CAST packed with soap stars is to take to the stage at the Festival Theatre later this month for a revival of stage comedy, Funny Peculiar.

Among those appearing in Mike Stott’s classic will be Vicky Entwistle – best known as Janice Battersby in Coronation Street – and Craig Gazey, who appeared as the Street’s Graeme Proctor. Emmerdale’s Suzanne Shaw and Gemma Bissix of Hollyoaks will also be among the cast.

The production, which tells the story of grocer Trevor Tinsley, who ends up in the arms of his neighbour’s wife, runs from February 27 to March 3.

The award-winning comedy originally starred Richard Beckinsdale, Julie Walters, Matthew Kelly and Bill Nighy.
