Sinclair best in the East

Portobello’s Chris Sinclair was named East Regional player of the season when Scottish Rugby held its annual awards dinner at Murrayfield last night.

Other prize winners included RHC Cougars’ Steph Johnston (Women’s Premier One player) and Edinburgh’s James Matthew (referee of the season).

Meanwhile, a Scotland women’s seven-a-side select compete in London this weekend. The squad, with Murrayfield Wanderers’ Ruth Slaven, Laura Steven, Megan Gaffney, Lisa Martin, Annabel Sergeant and Sarah Law providing the nucleus supported by, among others, RHC Cougars pair Steph Johnston (captain) and Louise Dalgleish, are in a pool with RAF Pumas, Norwegian Vikingettes and an Injured Player’s Foundation team (England Women).
