Youngsters go for gold

SIX resilient youngsters from East Lothian have been presented with the coveted Duke of Edinburgh’s gold award at a ceremony at Holyrood Palace attended by HRH Prince Philip.

The award-winners – Lucy Robertson, Euan Kerr, Kelsey Stewart, Emily Banks, Mhairi Dalglish and Douglas McClintick – had to complete volunteering and physical skill activities, as well as undertake a four-day expedition, and five days of residential shared activity away from home.
