Young cooks scoop prize

BUDDING chefs from Prestonpans have won an East Lothian cookery prize for mixed primary and secondary school teams.

Shannon Harker, of Preston Lodge High School, joined forces with Michael Tran and Aaron Hall of Prestonpans Primary School to win the Little and Large trophy.

Pupils from 22 schools took part in the competition which sets the challenge of creating a healthy meal. The final was held at Knox Academy, Haddington, where a panel of judges scrutinised the dishes and selected a winner.
