Woman robbed by knifeman

A WOMAN has been robbed at knifepoint by a mugger 
who made off with her 
handbag.

The 57-year-old victim was walking through Muirhouse Park at around 8am on Sunday when she was approached by the man, who pulled out a knife and threatened her.

After stealing her handbag, the suspect fled towards Ferry Gait Drive.

The man is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a light blue zip-up jacket and blue jeans.

A police spokesman said: “Police are investigating a knifepoint robbery in Muirhouse Park at around 8am on Sunday.

“Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, who either witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously, to contact police on 0131-311 3131, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
