Unique play area in store

A NEW £100,000 soft play area featuring a mini-
supermarket, garage and shoe shop is set to open in the space formerly occupied by Molly’s Play Centre at Ocean Terminal.

Maddie and Mark’s Play Town is the brainchild of Imogen Douglas, the woman behind a local chain of children’s shoe shops.

The mother-of-one, who lives in Blackhall, said: “Forget any preconceptions about play areas – we’re going to have a fantastic space that will be almost as educational as it will be fun. There will be nothing else like this in Edinburgh.

“The imagination zone will have a mini-supermarket, a garage and shoe shop – a complete workout for their creativity while mum or dad can do the opposite and take it easy in our cafe area.

“We’ve teamed up with Craigie’s Farm to provide homemade and fresh food for all the family in the eating area.”

The play area will be located on the top floor of Ocean Terminal, and will open in mid-September.
