Toner appointed new chair of community health board

A NEW chair of the West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) board has been appointed.

Councillor Frank Toner, who represents the East Livingston and East Calder ward, replaces outgoing chair Theresa Douglas, who held the post for four years.

The board is comprised of both NHS Lothian members and councillors.

The partnership was formed in 2005 by the local authority and the health board with the aim of bringing community-based health and social care together to offer a better public service.

Cllr Toner said: “I am looking forward to the challenges this new role will bring, and to build upon and continue the excellent work the CHCP delivers to the local community.”

The CHCP manages a range of services including community care, personal care, residential care, mental health, and GPs.
