Inspired by real-life events, this piece explores themes of memory and regret with puppetry and projection to create an unforgettable and immersive performance.
Beginning with a daughter steadily going through her dead photojournalist father’s belongings, Grit creates a snapshot of the realities of war and how it affects children worldwide, whether they are an orphaned child of conflict, or the lonely daughter of a journalist.
Directed by Ross McKay, the play takes a look at the physical and emotional costs of conflict through the perspective of different children.
This analysis of war and child play is an intimate and, at times, devastating portrayal of the cruel realities of conflict. A tribute to the innocence and imagination of children.
