Tera Melos at Sneaky Pete’s

TERA Melos is a three-piece band from Northern California consisting of Nick Reinhart (guitars, programming, vocals), Nathan Latona (bass) and newest member John Clardy (drums).

One of the leading innovators of math-rock, they incorporate experimental rock, ambient electronics and unconventional song structure all in one to create an original brand of music.

Clever stuff, but just how calculated is the music of Tera Melos? “It’s calculated in the sense that it’s everything we want it to be,” says Reinhart. “Some of the music comes together after a lot of thought, and sometimes it’s based on impulse and intuition.

“As far as the technical aspects of the band go, it’s how we play,” adds the singer. “We don’t set out to write incredibly complicated music, it just so happens that sometimes it comes out that way.”
